Group Claims

Co-Chair Pedro Martins, Mishcon de Reya

Group actions are proceedings where a group of individuals collectively seeks justice against common defendants, typically for harm caused by similar actions or products. This can take the form of representative/class actions (opt-out), where claimants with identical or nearly identical grievances are represented collectively, or group litigation orders (opt-in), which involve multiple individual claims consolidated due to shared legal or factual issues, such as fraudulent financial services, environmental disasters, or harmful products. Group actions often involve claimants and/or defendants in multiple jurisdictions where the harm has occurred and demand the involvement of different legal teams across multiple countries.
